Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests. It has more than 600 lakes and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields. The West in the summertime means hot weather, fields of yellow canola, the "Greatest Outdoor Show" in the World, and many beautiful sights to admire. You will experience the Calgary Stampede, "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth", as well as visits in the rural areas of Central Alberta and into the Canadian Rocky Mountain range. Continuing on to the province of Saskatchewan, you will spend time at the "Ag In Motion" Farm Show. Further on, you will visit the province of Ontario and such places as St. Jacobs and the Amish, Niagara Falls and Stratford.

Day 1 - CALGARY – LETHBRIDGE (D)

Arrive Calgary, Alberta and transfer to southern Alberta and the agricultural city of Lethbridge for a 2-night stay.  Southern Alberta is part of the Great Plains region, with the Canadian Rockies and their foothills to the west. The rest of region is dominated by irrigated farmlands, feedlots and speciality crops. Enjoy a “Welcome Dinner “ this evening.

Overnight: Lethbridge

Day 2 - LETHBRIDGE (B)

This morning, travel to “Feedlot Alley” to visit a feedlot operation specializing in both beef cattle feedlots as well as a sheep feedlot. This will be followed with a visit to a commercial greenhouse facility.  After lunch, visit with a local farmer that grows potatoes, beans, sugar beets and seed canola on his farm. Return to Lethbridge for the night.

Day 3 - LETHBRIDGE – CALGARY (B/L)

Departing Lethbridge, drive to Fort Macleod to visit a replica of a fort built by the NWMP in the 1800’s and watch a live performance of the Musical Ride.  Drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump for a guided tour of this unique facility and learn about the hunting of the buffalo by a ‘native’ storyteller.  Travel to Calgary for a 2-night stay.

Day 4 - CALGARY STAMPEDE (B)

This is a whole day at the Calgary Stampede to enjoy as you would choose, from the agricultural pavilions and other many other displays.  There is the option to take in the afternoon rodeo performance.  This evening there is reserved seating for the world famous Chuckwagon Races, Grandstand show and Fireworks. (NOTE: this will be a late evening)

Day 5 - BANFF NATIONAL PARK (B/D)

Departing Calgary this morning, travel into the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the Banff National Park.  Enjoy a scenic gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain in Banff, where you will take in breath-taking views of the mountain skyline before traveling on the “most scenic highway in the world” - the Icefield Parkway. This magnificent drive will offer spectacular mountain vistas and possibilities for wildlife sightings such as bighorn sheep, deer and bears. This afternoon, visit Lake Louise - considered to be one of the most beautiful and photographic areas in Canada plus a visit to Bow and Peyto Lakes before arriving at the Saskatchewan River Crossing for an overnight stay.

Day 6 - BANFF NATIONAL PARK – CENTRAL ALBERTA (B)

Travel into Jasper National Park where you will enjoy a unique snow coach ride on the icy slopes of the Icefields - the largest glacier south of the Arctic Circle.  Return back via The Crossing and Lake Abraham—one of the largest “earth dams” in Alberta created for water management and hydropower production.  Travel to the historic village of Nordegg, then leaving the Canadian    Rockies behind, continue the drive through the most fertile farmland in Western Canada.  This area is diverse with cattle farms, oil industry and grain farms.  Red Deer is our destination for a 2-night stay.

Day 7 - CENTRAL ALBERTA (B/L)

Touring today will include a Gouda Cheese factory, as well as a local farm. This afternoon, tour a Hutterite Colony. These "colonies", are all rural, depending largely on farming or ranching for their income.  This is followed by a visit to a local family farm that specializes in oil seed and grain production.  Enjoy a BBQ   dinner at the family farm before returning to Red Deer for the night. 

Overnight back in Red Deer.

Day 8 - CENTRAL ALBERTA – SASKATOON, Saskatchewan (B)

Leaving Central Alberta behind, you travel east towards the province of Saskatchewan.  This region is known for its large grazing lands for beef cattle plus wheat and pulse crop production.  This afternoon you arrive in Saskatoon, a city located on the South Saskatchewan River and check into hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 9 - SASKATOON & FARM SHOW (B/D)

Today you visit “Ag in Motion”, the first and only agricultural trade show in Western Canada that provides an outdoor venue for progressive farmers that want to see and feel the latest agricultural innovations – all in one place.

Day 10 - SASKATOON, SK - TORONTO, ON (B)

This morning you tour Flexi-Coil, Canada’s largest farm implement manufacturer. Flexi-Coil has earned a reputation for product quality and superior design in seeding, tillage and chemical application equipment - in particular the Flexi-Coil air seeding systems stand alone in terms of innovation, efficiency and effectiveness.   This afternoon transfer to the Saskatoon Airport for your flight to Toronto, Ontario.  (Flight Included)
Upon arrival at the Toronto airport and transferring to the Cambridge region for an overnight stay.  Cambridge is a modern, thriving community that has small town charm. The City has everything people want in terms of industry, business and lifestyle.  Enjoy a “Welcome Dinner” this evening.

Day 11 - Cambridge –St. Jacobs, Ontario (B/L/D)

Cambridge area is noted for the production of beef, chicken, pork, lamb, cheese, eggs, honey, asparagus, rhubarb, sweet corn, pumpkins and maple syrup, just to name a few.  Crops grown in the area are mainly corn and soybeans.  After visiting farms in the region and having lunch, you travel to St. Jacobs for an overnight stay and a chance to enjoy a home-cooked meal.

Day 12 - St. Jacobs –Niagara Falls, Ontario (B)

St Jacobs developed around the Amish region of Ontario.  You will still see the Amish driving their horse-drawn buggy along the roads and taking their produce to sell at the St. Jacobs Market.  The market was established in 1975 and is the largest year-round farmers market in Canada.  After touring through the market on your own and having lunch there, you will want to climb aboard a horse-drawn trolley to visit an Amish farm to learn about their culture. This afternoon you depart for Niagara Falls for a 2-night stay at a hotel overlooking the falls.

Day 13 - Niagara Falls Region, Ontario (B/L)

Following breakfast you tour the region, and drive to the picturesque town of Niagara-On-The-Lake as well as visit one of the many local wineries in the region for lunch and tasting.  Return to Niagara Falls in the afternoon where you can explore on your own and take an optional“Maid of the Mist Tour” or one that takes you behind the falls, just to name a few.  Overnight once more in Niagara Falls.

Day 14 - Niagara-Simcoe-London, Ontario (B/L)

Departing from the Niagara you head towards the Simcoe region where most of Ontario’s ginseng and tobacco is grown.  After touring these farms a stop will be made at Port Dover on the shores of Lake Erie for their famous Lake Perch Lunch. This afternoon you visit a robotic dairy before checking into your hotel in London, Ontario for an overnight stay.  

Day 15 - London-Chatham, Ontario (B/L)

Driving into the region known as the “Golden Triangle”  you visit greenhouses that produce peppers and tomatoes for the commercial markets.  Following lunch you visit the Jackson Farm.  Jackson Seed Service is proud to be one of Southwestern Ontario’s top soybean processing, cleaning, and distribution centers for distribution internationally. Overnight in Chatham, Ontario.

Day 16 - Chatham-Stratford, Ontario (B/D)

This morning you drive to Tupperville to visit a Horse Stud Farm before continuing along the St. Clair River, that form in part, the border between Ontario and Michigan, USA. This afternoon continue your drive to Hensall, to view the bean processing facility there as well as a visit to a local grain farm. Overnight in Stratford, Ontario, situated on the Avon River. Stratford is well known for being the home of the Stratford Festival (previously known as the Stratford Shakespeare Festival).  While Shakespeare's plays are still produced, theatre in a wide range of genres is from May to October.   Enjoy a “Farewell Dinner” this evening.

Day 17 - End Of Tour (B)

Following breakfast at the hotel, depart for the airport and your flights back to your home city.
